Equipment History
Monon no. 81551 is a steel transfer caboose built in the Monon's Lafayette Shops in 1956. The caboose carried three numbers while owned by the Louisville & Nashville (no. 924, 6924, and 58). The caboose was renumbered 12058 under Seaboard/Family Lines System. The caboose eventually made its way to the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum where it is awaiting restoration. It is owned by a private individual.
