Volunteering with the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is a great way to give back to the community while helping preserve and share railroad history. Volunteers support a wide range of activities, from train operations and special events to restoration projects and visitor services. The gift shop and museum will be closed on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Unfavorable weather and air quality conditions have impacted our volunteer staffing levels for the day.

Situated near the former junction of the Erie, PRR, C&O, and NYC in historic North Judson, HVRM offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and smells of railroading during its heydays.
