Are you ready to take a journey back to a bygone era? Then visit the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in northwest Indiana. Situated near the former junction of the Erie, PRR, C&O, and NYC in historic North Judson, HVRM offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and smells of railroading during its heydays. Visit the museum or take a train ride on our vintage rail equipment. There's lots to do and see at HVRM!
Take a fun-filled ride through the crisp rural landscape while enjoying a mix of fall colors! Trains leave the depot in North Judson, Indiana, and take passengers on a leisurely journey. Once again this year, we are offering two unique experiences for our Pumpkin Trains: Diesel Pumpkin Trains and Steam Pumpkin Trains. Our diesel-powered Pumpkin Trains take passengers on a 45-minute, 10-mile round-trip journey from North Judson to English Lake where the train crosses the beautiful Kankakee River before returning to town. Our steam-powered Pumpkin Trains feature the amazing Bock Lumber Company no. 1 steam locomotive. Steam-powered Pumpkin Trains takes passengers on a shorter 20-25 minute, 2.8-mile round-trip excursion. All trains drop passengers off at our pumpkin patch where your little pumpkin can pick a pumpkin of their choice.
CHALLENGE GRANT OPPORTUNITY: An anonymous donor will contribute up to $7,000 in matching funds, which means that we only need to raise $7,000 to get this project completed!
You can help rebuild the stairs at Grasselli Tower! To help make it easier to contribute to this cause, we've made it fun and simple. There are 26 treads and 2 platforms on the stairs. Each of the platforms can be sponsored for $500 each, while each tread can be sponsored for $230 each. The names of each sponsor will be featured on a sponsorship board inside Grasselli Tower once the project is complete. If you can't sponsor a tread or platform, you can still contribute by becoming a handrail sponsor! Handrail sponsors can contribute $25, $50, $75 or $100 amounts and still be recognized on our sponsorship board. Any amount that we raise over the goal will be deposited into our Grasselli Tower Fund to help maintain the tower.
